Local fighter Anthony Goodwin won his weight class at the U.S. Amateur MMA National Championship held earlier this month at the O’Hare Hyatt Regency in Rosemont.

Goodwin, who raised his record to 6-1, earned a submission victory 1:38 into the third round in the lightweight title match after a TKO win in the semis. He trains at No Joke Martial Arts in Rockford.
The bouts were Aug. 1 through 3.
